Drinking water can be contaminated with a wide variety of pollutants: pathogens, heavy metals, non- metallic inorganics, synthetic organic compounds, radioactive substances, chlorine and trihalomethanes. In addition to their many other duties, schools are responsible for providing safe drinking water to students and staff. EAGLE encourages schools to conserve water, as well. Simple behavioral changes can make a world of difference.
